Many people hate fishing or dare not even go because it seems boring, slow, and quiet.
If you picture it in your mind, it is slow, and it is quiet.
Look at these two pictures…

Nothing about these photos scream “party, loud, raucous,” and it doesn’t even denote “social”. In order to fish and catch something, there is stillness, and patience. You have to be quiet, and meticulous.
While fishing may seem uneventful, catching your first fish IS eventful! Fishing to me is similar to gardening. They both require preparation (activity), and waiting (the product: the catch or the bloom). You must prep your hook, and you must prepare the soil. As a connector, event planner/host, and certified professional life coach, I am doing a lot of uneventful tasks that lead up to a powerful event and/or coaching session. I am planting seeds of hope, and aiming to create messages of transformation. I am preparing, and making space for people. I am inviting people to come as they are and leave new and transformed.
When I think about preparing and waiting, the fear of the unknown creeps in.
While typically the unknown would be scary, I press in knowing something grand can result.
(I have been able to see it over and over)
It was January and I said to myself, “Monarch Connections has entered a blooming season.” I was astonished, and in the same breath, I was elated, and humbled.
I completed this panel, and then I heard some helpful feedback (thanks MW and CK). I was just coming off a personal height of meeting biological family members, and was also paid for my first ever solo presentation/training event on my thoughts about being an adoptee and what adoption looks like through my eyes. (Want to see that presentation, buy it here for 20% off with Home20 code)
The doors kept opening.
And they still do.
Later today, I am presenting on “Preparing to Become a Transracial Family: 3 Things You Can Do While You Wait.” A topic I chose, and created content for!
The buds keep opening and lots around me and Monarch was and is blooming.

Speaking of gifts, the end of March, I celebrate my birthday! I love b-days, I love cards, and calls, and texts, brownies, and gifts. I hope you enjoy my birthday month with me by finding joy in the little things, like stillness and the bright sunshine. If you are interested in gifting me, here is my Amazon Birthday list.
Love,
